AKG C214 Matched Pair

75,170 EGP

The AKG C214 Matched Pair is a set of two large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphones that are factory-matched for nearly identical sensitivity and frequency response, ensuring realistic and balanced stereo recordings. Designed as a cost-effective alternative to the high-end C414 family, the C214 delivers a highly-detailed, bright, and clear sound.
Key Features
  • Matched Pair: Microphones are computer-aided matched to have the highest possible correlation over the entire frequency range for stunning, three-dimensional stereo imaging.
  • Sonic Character: Features the sonic character of the legendary C414 XLII, providing detailed recordings of vocals, solo instruments, and ensembles.
  • Versatility: Includes a switchable 20dB attenuation pad and a low-cut filter, allowing use on high-output sound sources like drum overheads or guitar amps (up to 156dB SPL) while minimizing proximity effect or mechanical noise.
  • Durable Construction: Built with an all-metal, die-cast body that is shock- and scratch-resistant, making it suitable for both studio and stage use.
  • Accessories: The pair comes in a robust metal carrying case with two spider-type shock mounts and two windscreens.

Perfect twins

The C214 large-diaphragm condenser microphone has been designed as a cost-effective alternative to the high-end C414 family. The C214 captures sound by combining one capsule of the legendary C414 dual-capsule system and the patented AKG Back-Plate Technology, resulting in an outstanding performance close to the famous C414 XLII. <p> Realistic stereo recordings require microphones with outstanding performance and excellent quality. They also require performance consistency and accurate localization from the pair of microphones. Therefore, every factory-matched pair of C214s is created from thousands of individual microphones selected by AKG‘s sophisticated computer-aided matching method. The result is the highest possible correlation over the whole frequency range and virtually identical sensitivity for stunning, three-dimensional recordings.
